[p97 n24] Robert R. Newton The Crime of Claudius
Ptolemy
chapter 8
clarification [p159] re 'My Aunt's House': although
it becomes obvious from the notes, it is not made sufficiently clear on first
reading of the text that there were two separate court hearings, the first one
before a Registrar (6th Oct 1983), and the second one on appeal before a Judge
(3rd Nov 1983).
chapter 11
ERROR [p213 fig.16] Dead
Sheep and Flamingo : data incorrectly given. The event occurs Saturday 24th
March 3:05:39pm BST (NOT GMT as stated in MOA revised edn.) with the planetary
hour changing between Saturn and Jupiter. The horoscope is otherwise correct
for this event.
chapter 13
[p264] what exactly is illustrated in Sibly's Revolution
of America engraving?
chapter 16
ERROR [p329 n28 & n30] note
30 gives a redundant and incorrect bibliographical reference to Pontano's text.
The correct reference is given in n28 on same page, where however 'Giovani'
should be 'Giovanni'. The reference in n28 should therefore read: 'Giovanni
Pontano Commentationem in Centum Claudii Ptolemei (Basle, 1531)'.
appendix 4
ERROR [p358 n3] text '..in line
with the visible of Pendle Hill...' should read '...in line with the visible
hump of Pendle Hill...' (note an error in this
same appendix in MOA first edition where the first two paragraphs of p386 are
duplicate text and should be deleted, from '...Leeds and Liverpool Canal..'.
to '...strikingly radical figures such as this').
appendix 7
ERROR [p376] in the bottom paragraph
the position of the Moon is incorrectly given by 2' arc (referring to fig.31).
Text 'The Moon, showing the girl who has named herself, is at 19°50' Leo.
If we look back at the horary, the horary Moon is also in Leo but Venus is at
19°51' Aries, so the natal Moon is just 1 minute of arc from the trine of
horary Venus...' should read 'The Moon, showing the girl who has named herself,
is at 19°48' Leo. If we look back at the horary, the horary Moon is also
in Leo but Venus is at 19°51' Aries, so the natal Moon is just 3 minutes
of arc from the trine of horary Venus...'.
