These horoscopes, notes and slides are designed to go with the audio CDs/tapes 'The Magic of Horary' distributed by A-C Tapes of Cleveland, Ohio [CD and tape: catalog #960) and in the UK by the Company of Astrologers (CD set only). Printed horoscopes and notes for offline users of the audio are available from the COA for a modest additional cost. If you have not purchased the audio set, feel free to browse and study this material, but please do not otherwise distribute it. The recording was made on 25th October 2007 at the State of the Art Conference in Toronto, Canada. This presentation includes a list of topics covered in discussion in the seminar, some in depth, making the whole a valuable resource for the student.

A unique exploration of the philosophy and practice of Horary Astrology

If you have already started on the path of horary, then raise your game to another level. If you are an experienced natal astrologer but you have been put off horary, then look again and discover its symbolic riches.

Horary is a powerful method in its own right, but it also opens up another dimension of astrology's potential, with the capacity to revitalise every other part of the astrologer's practice. There are pitfalls on the way, though, and much contemporary horary looks feeble and irrelevant to serious-minded non-horary practitioners. We start with the archaic origins of horary in the katarche and augury, showing how right attitude, a true understanding of the source of questions, and a poetic simplicity of symbol, are all essential to effective practice. We then move on to the development of traditional and modern horary methods, showing through examples what works best in contemporary practice. A working understanding of astrology is assumed; this seminar is not suitable for the beginner.

Geoffrey Cornelius is an acknowledged authority in this field. He is a consultant in astrology and divination, a former President of the Astrological Lodge of London, a founding member of the Company of Astrologers, and a tutor on its Katarche correspondence course in Horary Astrology. He has been instrumental in establishing academic studies in astrology at University level in the UK. In 2005 he received the Astrological Association's Charles Harvey Award for Exceptional Service to Astrology. His best-known work, referred to in this seminar, is The Moment of Astrology (Penguin/Arkana 1994; revised edn. Wessex Astrologer 2003)
